Elwin J Torrey

TORREY, Elwin J. Galesburg Died October 25, 2006 at Bronson Hospital. Elwin was born June 20, 1927 in Climax, MI, the son of George and Gladys Torrey and was a lifelong resident of Galesburg. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 28 years as a cook at the VA Hospital in Battle Creek. He enjoyed hunting, working in his yard and doing yard work for others. He was also a fan of Big Time Wrestling. His wife Betty preceded him in death on July 4, 2003. Surviving are 3 sons, Robert Coralyn Torrey of Bowling Green, KY, Stuart Torrey of Galesburg and William Connie Torrey of Delton; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. There will be no services. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. Memorial contributions in Elwin?s memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
