Formerly of Schoolcraft Passed away October 20, 2007 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Elton was born December 27, 1919 in Arkansas, the son of Floyd and Flora Goswick. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and lived in Schoolcraft for 45 years prior to moving to Ft. Myers, FL where he lived for 20 years. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 20 years at General Motors. Elton was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor in 2005, to whom he was married for 63 years. He was also preceded by an infant son Michael, a son Patrick and by 2 daughters, Myra Killean and Sandra Koppers. Surviving are 2 sons, Jay Romilda Goswick of Otsego, Gary Marcie Goswick of Kentucky, 3 daughters, Ellen Hallan of Arizona, Bernadette Lee Ochap of Alaska and Jan Bob Markillie of Kalamazoo; a son-in-law George Koppers, Jr. of Mattawan; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a sister Nelma Blair of Saugatuck; nieces and nephews; special friends Randy and Pam Schwartz who provided loving care the last year of his life. Services will be held at 11:00 o?clock Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with the Rev. Dwight Hostetler officiating. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Texas Township. Friends may meet the family today from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Westside Chapel.
