Elsie Henrietta Smith

SMITH, Elsie Henrietta Age 84 Of Kalamazoo Elsie passed away in her sleep early Friday morning, February 23, 2007. She was born June 8, 1922 in Kalamazoo, MI the daughter of Hiram and Alice Hoeksema. Elsie was married to Richard Smith, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Jane Marinus Vandermeer; her daughter Ryann Richard Docsa and her son Michael Candice Smith, both of Kalamazoo; two grandsons Brian Cheryl Smith of Portage and Christopher Tracy Smith of Kalamazoo; one granddaughter Jennifer Docsa and her fiancé Asim Khan of Sterling Heights, MI; three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Chelsey and Cassidy Smith, all of Portage; one niece, two nephews and their children; plus many close friends. She worked many years at the Upjohn Nursing Home before she retired. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 o?clock on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at the old St. Ambrose Catholic Church Building at 1628 East ?G? Ave. with the Rev. Dan Minor officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in Elsie?s memory be made to the charity of your choice.
