STILLMAN, Ellwood M., "Woody" of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in Kalamazoo. Woody was born November 12, 1923 in Kalamazoo, a son of the late Cecil and Teressa Vellinga Stillman and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. He was a member of the Westwood Church of God. He served his country in the United States Army in Europe during WW II and continued to have yearly reunions with members of his Army battalion. Woody spent his career as the "World's Best Automobile Salesman" by living by the Golden Rule, managing many automobile dealerships. In retirement, he and his wife, Valma, spent many winters in Florida. He and Valma just celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on January 22, 2013. Woody is survived by his wife, Valma; their children, Connie Schlaack Dale Harrison of Kalamazoo and Larry Mary Stillman of Portage; 4 grandchildren, Andrea Bob Stamp, Melissa Joe Kleinert, Elizabeth Stillman and Christopher Stillman; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Andy Shirley Stillman; a sister, Marcie Vande Wouwer; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Marie; a sister, Alice Tinklenberg; and a brother, Jim Stillman. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., with Pastor Tom Tufts officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Westwood Church of God Memorial Fund, 811 Gorham Lane.
