STURGIS, Mrs. Elizabeth S.
Kalamazoo, MI Elizabeth on died Friday, May 25, 2012, at her home. She was born December 4, 1920. Elizabeth retired from James River Paper Co. after 30 years. She returned to school and earned her Associate Science of Arts and Education in 1997 from KVCC. Elizabeth was married to Robert N. Sturgis, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by a son, Philip Carpenter; a daughter, Joi Sue Sturgis; and a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Sturgis. Elizabeth is survived by: 5 sons , Carl Wanda Carpenter of Washington, Gerald Bette Carpenter, John Amber Carpenter, Steven Carpenter, and Robert Sturgis, Jr. of Kalamazoo; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, with Pastor Greg Bishop of Northeastern Baptist Church officiating. Private inurnment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
