Elizabeth D. Desposato

Elizabeth “Betty” Dell Desposato, age 96 of Kalamazoo, died peacefully in her sleep on January 14, 2024. Betty was born August 1, 1927, in Paonia, Colorado, the daughter of Sarah “Sadie” (Jaquiss) and John “Frank” Franklin Cline; she was the youngest of six children and the only girl.  After graduating from high school in Paonia, Colorado, Betty moved from Colorado to Richland, Washington to work at Hanford nuclear facility.  It was there that she met her future husband, Francis “Frank” Desposato.  They were married on March 20, 1954.  After marriage they traveled to many cities in the U.S. for Frank’s military service including, state of Washington, New Jersey, and Texas, eventually settling in Kalamazoo for Frank’s employment at The Upjohn Company.  Betty and Frank shared 67 wonderful years together, traveling, camping, and enjoying family.  Her hobbies included walking, cross-country skiing, reading, and being with family and friends (including the BAAD girls).  Betty’s family includes her children, Thomas Desposato, David (Jacqueline) Desposato and Sue (Glenn) Morgan; her 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and her brothers, Bernard, Ralph, Jack, Elmer, and Earl.  A memorial service will be held in honor of Betty at Langeland Family Funeral Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th Street, Kalamazoo on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 12:00 pm followed by a luncheon. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Betty may be made to the charity of your choice.
