COOPER, Elizabeth K. "Betty"
Of Kalamazoo Died June 3, 2013 at the age of 97. Betty was born May 20, 1916 in Kalamazoo to the late John and Katherine Witters Koole. She was united in marriage to Frank Cooper on August 24, 1940 who preceded her in death in July of 1983. She was a longtime member of Cooper Congregational Church. She worked at Shakesphere and Allen Electric. She was an avid bowler who played on many leagues and she loved gardening and swimming, especially in her earlier years. She also loved to travel on cruises and collecting dolls but above all else, she loved her cats. Betty is survived by her grandchildren, Carol Dennis Fritz of Wever, Iowa, Sandy Cooper, Frank "Bill" Cooper and Joe Debbie Cooper all of Burlington, Iowa and Pamela Eversmeyer of League City, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren; 18 great great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephews, Jack Nancy Koole, Jill Koole, James Nancy Koole; many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Frank "Pete" Cooper; 4 great grandchildren; and brother, Nelson Koole. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 5-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where a funeral service will take place on Friday at 1:00pm. Committal will immediately follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue Project, 219 Peekstock Dr., Kalamazoo, MI .
