MUSALL, Mr. Elisha "Lash"
Portage, MI After a prolonged illness, Lash went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. He was born February 13, 1925 in Burnettsville, IN, a son of Herbert and Louella Lowe Musall and had lived in Portage, MI since 1959. During World War II, Lash served in the US Army. He was employed by Allied Paper for 23 years, retiring in 1986. Lash was a member of the Comstock Church of Christ and the Portage VFW. Lash had been square dancing avidly since his retirement, belonging to many clubs locally. Before retirement Lash belonged to the Chief Engineers Organization of Michigan and the Elk's Club, holding a progression of offices until his retirement from these. He was also a member of the Portage Senior Center where he enjoyed and participated in many activities and musical productions. On April 5, 1947, Lash was united in marriage with the former Jean Wilburn, who preceded him in death on March 3, 1992. He was also preceded in death by: his parents; four sisters, May, Violet, Doris and Nora; five brothers, Don, Max, John, Harold and Herbert; and a grandson, Christopher Kilpatrick. Surviving are: three children and their spouses, Allen Wayne Linda Musall of Colon, David Bruce Patricia Musall of Kalamazoo and Gaye Ann Michael McCormick of Mattawan; four grandchildren, Daniel, David Jr., Marcia and Linda; 14 great-grandchildren, Brittany, Katelyn, Sahara, Max, Jamison, Gabriel, Nate, Jacob, Nicholas, Dan Jr., Victoria, Alex, Timothy and Geoffrey; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8pm Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Center Ave., where services will be held 1:00 Friday afternoon with Minister Scott Burdick, officiating. Burial in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South will follow services. Memorials should be directed to Comstock Church of Christ or the Portage Senior Center.
