Elisabeth A. Kosowicz

KOSOWICZ, Elisabeth A. Our dear Mother, Elisabeth Agnes Kosowicz passed away peacefully April 6, 2012 at home. She was born on January 11, 1927 the daughter of Max and Frieda Henow Steinke in Niederlehme, Germany. She was married to Willy Popp on December 18, 1941 and widowed as the result of war. She married Siegfried F. Kosowicz on December 11, 1948 who preceded her in death on August 22, 1989. Mom and Dad, and their young family traveled from Berlin, Germany to America in 1958 bound for the land of opportunity. Our Mother was a shining example in all her endeavors. She was a wonderful and talented cook; she loved to garden and enjoyed nature. But most of all she loved being a wife and mother. It showed in the way she cared for her husband and family. We are today the examples of her teachings and are forever grateful. Dear Mother, Oma, Great-Grandmother and Sister, you will be forever in our hearts and memories. Surviving are four children, Barbara Bruce Popp Buchanan of Appleton, WI, Viktor Sandra Kosowicz of Schoolcraft, Ralf Debra Kosowicz of Portage and Rita Chester Lahr of Schoolcraft; five grandchildren, Renee Michael Sullivan, Brett Buchanan, Catherine Kosowicz Jack Johnson, Victoria Kosowicz Justin Coffey and Rachel Lahr; ten great-grandchildren, Branden, Ariana, Marissa, Hunter, Parker, Max, Viktor, Holden, Dannyn, Vincent; two sisters, Gertrud Steinke Grossmann and Erika Steinke John; several nieces and nephews. Private family visitation and services will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. A private family interment will be held in Hope Cemetery. Memorials in Elisabeth's memory may be directed to a charity of your choice.
