Of Portage Elinor passed away in peace on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Fountainview of Portage. She was born on June 24, 1925, in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of John and Edith Tazelaar Holleman. She was united in marriage to her loving husband, George Ossentjuk in 1957. Elinor is survived by 2 children, Marilyn James Ossentjuk-Kunnen, Elaine Craig Ossentjuk-Sudeikis; 3 grandchildren, Eduard Jaynine Tamez, Stephanie Nickols, Joseph Kunnen; 3 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Carlina, and Emily; and several nieces and nephews. A loving and devoted wife and mother, Elinor was also active in many women's ministries in her church and community. The family extends special thanks to the staff at Fountainview and to Deb Comstock. Friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre in Portage. Services will be held at 11:00 o'clock Thursday at Third Christian Reformed Church, 2400 Winchell Ave in Kalamazoo, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Baker and Rev. Meg Jenista officiating. Private interment will be in Fair Plains Cemetery in Grand Rapids. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Open Doors Ministries, PO Box 50102, Kalamazoo, MI, 49005www.opendoorskalamazoo.org or to Third Christian Reformed Church, 2400 Winchell Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49008.
