Elenora "Midge" Stratton

Elenora M. Stratton “Midge”, age 91 of Kalamazoo, died on November 19, 2024. She was born on December 31, 1932, in Texas Corners, Michigan, the daughter of Elmer and Mabel (VanVorst) Dean. Elenora attended Mattawan Schools and graduated from Portage High School in 1950. She raised her family and worked in local papermills. Later, she worked as a housemother and then in custodial at Western Michigan University, where she retired. On December 17, 1977, she married James Stratton and blended their families. 

Her family includes her husband, James Stratton; her children: Joni McDonald and Stacy (Kris) VandeStreek; her stepchildren: Brenda (Mark) Adams, Wes Stratton, Harley Stratton, and Jimmy (Diane) Stratton; her grandchildren: Ben (Tracy) McDonald, B.J. McDonald, Shannon (Blaise) Smith, Heather Burr, Kristofer (Paula) VandeStreek, Breanna VandeStreek, P.J. O’Flynn, Amanda (Mat) Schlotterback, Nic Burkhold, Mark (Shanda) Rouse, Andy Stratton, Jeff Stratton, Jaime Adams, Taylor Stratton, and Madison Stratton; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her children: David, Susan, Brian, and Pat, her granddaughter Aimee McDonald, and her ten brothers and sisters. 

Friends may visit with her family on Sunday, November 24th from 2:00-5:00 PM, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Location, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo. Donations in memory of Midge may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
