SIEBEL, Elana I.
Of Kalamazoo, MI Went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 2, 2009. Elana was born September 10, 1945 in Plainwell, MI, a daughter of Roland and Irene Draper Dansby and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. She was a graduate of Comstock High School and the American Beauty College. Elana was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Paw Paw; a member of the Kalamazoo Corvette Club, where she had served as Governor, the Michigan Region Corvette Club where she served as Treasurer, the National Council of Corvette Clubs where she served as Sergeant of Arms. Elana enjoyed NASCAR and loved to drag race and was awarded some first place trophies. The most important part of her life was her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Elana was preceded in death by a daughter Laurie Hale in 2005. On October 24, 1964, she was married to William H. Siebel, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter Cyndi Matthew Mohler of Wind Lake, WI and a son Todd Melissa Siebel of Mattawan and a son-in-law Scott Hale of Parchment; 6 grandchildren, Haley and Sarah Mohler, Brendan and Cody Siebel and Alex and Jordyn Hale; a sister Shirley Kime of Richland and 2 brothers, Lee Standish of Vicksburg and Phil Standish of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Paw Paw, 721 Pine St. with Pastor Mark Whittaker officiating. Private interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Kalamazoo. Friends may meet the family on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 S. 9th St. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Elana's memory be made to the West Michigan Cancer Center or the Trinity Lutheran Church of Paw Paw.
