Spitters, Elaine Joyce Hybels
Of Kalamazoo Passed into the presence of her Lord on Monday, April 23, 2012. Age 86 years. She was born October 31, 1925, the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie Clement Hybels. She was a charter member of Haven Church in Kalamazoo. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was married to C. Frank Spitters on June 25, 1946 in Kalamazoo; he survives her. For 20 years she traveled with him and was involved with M.M.A.P. Mobile Missionary Assistance Program doing volunteer work across the country. Surviving besides her husband are three children, Diane Wichman of Gresham, OR, Alan Cecile Spitters of Kalamazoo and Gerald Deborah Spitters of Richland; four grandchildren, Scott, Steven, Kristi and Brandi; seven great-grandchildren, Ellie, Anna, Jaden, Kenzie, Kaden, Jace and Greyson. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Hybels and Robert Hybels. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Haven Church, 5350 Sprinkle Rd. Pastor Keith Lohman will officiate. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon at the church. Interment of ashes will take place in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Haven Church Endowment Fund.
