Climax Elaine Sinon Champion Goldsmith, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 in Kalamazoo. She was born March 14, 1924, the daughter of Leonard and Josie Van Daff Sinon and was a lifelong resident of Climax. Elaine graduated from Scotts High School in 1941 and had worked at Pease Packing for 34 years. On August 14, 1943, she married Harold Champion, who preceded her in death in 1962. In 1987, she married Lynn Goldsmith, who survives. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a grandson, Seth. Elaine is survived by her husband, Lynn; her children, Barbara Dennis Keller of CO, Judith Robert Smith of OR, Kenneth Joan Champion of MI, Sally David Coburn of MI; her step-children, Charlene Ron Homrich of MI, Lynn Goldsmith of MI, Dennis Jennifer Goldsmith of OH and Daniel Sharon Goldsmith of MI; 31 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Elaine's family was very important to her. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple St. with Rev. Mona Joslyn officiating. Interment will follow in North Athens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of one's choice.
