BOYCE, Elaine B.
Of Kalamazoo Elaine went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 3, 2011 at her residence in Kalamazoo. She was born November 21, 1922, the daughter of Edward and Winifred Rose Brink and was raised in North Muskegon, MI. A graduate of North Muskegon High School, she attended Howell School of Business in Muskegon. On August 9, 1941, she was united in marriage to George G. Boyce. They moved to Kalamazoo in 1951. Elaine was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo and a member of the Ladies Library Association. Elaine was a wonderful homemaker, caregiver for her parents in their elderly years and loved caring for all of her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On September 30, 2003, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband George. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, William Boyce and by another son, David Boyce on September 24, 2010. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Kathleen and Kenneth Klok; daughter-in law, Denise Boyce; grandchildren, Steven Pam Klok, Brian Laurie Klok, Rebeca John Heinsen and Alex Boyce; great-grandchildren, Brendan Klok and Jacob and Alaina Klok, all of Kalamazoo. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, October 5, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 6, at 11:00 AM at Centerpoint Church, 2345 North 10th Street, with visitation one hour prior to service. Rev. Darwin VanderWal will be officiating. Interment will be held in West Cooper Cemetery. Memorials in Elaine's memory may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or Arthritis Foundation.
