BAUMAN, Mrs. Eileen A.
Richland, MI Passed peacefully from this life into her eternal home, Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Eileen was born on May 30, 1915, in Camberley, Surrey, England. Eileen served in the Women's Royal English Navy during WW II where she met her husband Arthur Bauman, who preceded her in death July 9, 2005, after 60 years of marriage. Art was in the US Navy and they met in Algiers, North Africa. They were married in Naples, Italy March 15, 1945 at the close of the war. Eileen wore the wedding dress that Eleanore Roosevelt provided for the "war brides" in the European theater. Art brought Eileen home to Lynden, Washington, where she was lovingly welcomed into his family and introduced to Jesus Christ. Eileen was a member of Gracespring Bible Church formerly known as Richland Bible Church and was well known and loved as "the hat lady", "the candy lady", "the hugs lady", "a prayer warrior" and "the lady with the beautiful English accent". One didn't have to know Eileen well to receive an invite to her home. She had a wonderful gift of hospitality and was an excellent cook. The most important topic of conversation to Eileen was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Eileen loved to talk and always said the Lord saved her so she would have something important to talk about. She loved to sing and dance too, and was the life of every party. Art worked for the State Department and they traveled and lived in various places around the world ? Africa, Thailand, and Viet Nam. They were full of intriguing stories about their many adventures and how God was with them through it all. They settled at Gull Lake in 1975 near some of their children. Eileen leaves a wonderful legacy to her children and grandchildren. Each one knew how much she loved Jesus, and how much she loved them and prayed for them. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters.
