VANDE BIEZEN, Edwin H.
of Kalamazoo Edwin "Ed" H. Vande Biezen was born August 21, 1931 in Kalamazoo, the son of Cornelius and Effie Kiel Vande Biezen, Sr. and passed away July 14, 2011 in Kalamazoo. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Air Force. For many years he was employed at Allied Paper Company and following retirement he was employed with Oven Fresh Bakery for 10 years. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Alice Vande Biezen and Dorothy Roberts; and a brother Cornelius "Casey" Vande Biezen, Jr. Surviving are four sisters, "Corky" Hank Commasairs of Bloomingdale, Margaret Bogren of Kalamazoo, Maryanna Emmert of Bloomingdale, and Ruthann Luce of Portage; many nieces and nephews; two lifelong friends, Bruce V. Merriam III and Jason D. Scott. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 17th from 2-5pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. where a service to celebrate Edwin's life will be held 11:00am Monday with Pastor David Barringer officiating. A private interment will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
