Of Comstock, Michigan Passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008. Ed was born September 11, 1916, in Covert, Michigan, the son of Joseph and Ida Willett Pollard and has been a Kalamazoo area resident for over 80 years. Prior to his retirement he was employed for 35 years as an electrotyper with Crescent Engraving and LSI. Ed enjoyed photography, gardening, fishing, traveling and music. On June 2, 1939, he was united in marriage to the former Vivian Shellman who preceded him in death on April 4, 2006. Also preceding him in death was a son, Kerry Pollard on December 19, 2001 and a sister, Gertrude Bogue Stewart. Surviving are a daughter and son, Vonnegene Al Masey of Columbia, NJ and Randy Vicky Pollard of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Kim John McBain-Maycroft, Ron Loretta McBain, Heidi George Wisneski, Chris, Sheree, Branden Pollard and Chris Masey; great-grandchildren, Elyn, Josette, Hannah, Sarah, Abigail, Julia, Michael and Elise. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10-11 AM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday. A private interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials in Ed's memory may be directed to Residential Opportunities Inc. or the Alzheimer's Association.
