Edwin Jacob Luscomb, age 83, of Kalamazoo passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 at his home. He was born May 16, 1940 in Kalamazoo to the late Gordon Leroy and Mable Mildred (Wagonmaker) Luscomb.
Ed served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1959-1965—he was a proud Marine. Most of his career was spent at the Brown Company in Parchment. He later drove with the caravan of Kalamazoo County, helping to get folks to their necessary appointments, and cherished his time there. He volunteered for many years at Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes along with several other food pantries in the area. Ed enjoyed camping with family and friends, fishing, and the occasional round of golf. He was also known to be able to fix anything.
Ed was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Gordon L. (Gloria) Luscomb.
Ed was married for 59 years to the former Gertrude J. Vlietstra, who survives. He is also survived by his children, Dean J. Luscomb and Gail J. (Dan) Steffey; grandchildren, Noah and Brenna Luscomb, Scott (Adeline) Steffey, and Dustin Hunter; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Austin Steffey; nieces, Pam (Bruce) Stohrer and Kim (Chris) Corso; nephew, Steve Luscomb; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
