Texas Township Edwin Hosking 61 died at his home on Thursday, July 17, 2008 from Mesothelioma asbestos cancer which he had been fighting since August, 2006. He is survived by his wife Charlotte; their son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Melissa Hosking of London, England; their daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Brad Hodge of Portage; their grandsons, Cole and Carson Hodge; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Hazel Hosking of Herne Bay, England; his nephew, Ryan Hosking; his niece, Lindsay Hyland; and his great-nephew Cameron Hyland. Ed was born on March 29, 1947 to John and Elizabeth Hosking. He was raised in Herne Bay, England where he met and married his wife Charlotte in 1972. In 1975 they immigrated to the Kalamazoo area with their son Mark. Ed soon started working at General Motors as a pipefitter. He worked for General Motors for 32 years, transferring from the Kalamazoo plant to the Grand Blanc plant in 1996. He moved back to the Portage area in May after retiring. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, July 22nd at Milwood United Methodist Church, 3919 Portage St., Kalamazoo, MI.
