Edward J. Miller

MILLER, Edward J. Kalamazoo Passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 at Borgess Medical Center. Ed was born February 13, 1928 in Kalamazoo, a son of the late Harry and Gertrude Weber Miller, and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. He was employed by KVP for 38 years until his retirement. Ed enjoyed fishing, camping, and walking. On June 4, 1948, he was united in marriage to Mary V. Putman, whom he met in the music department of a dime store in Spartanburg, SC. Preceding him in death was is wife of 61 years, Mary Miller on May 14, 2010. Surviving are his sons, James Miller of Spartanburg, SC and Timothy Peggy Miller of Kalamazoo; two grandchildren, Kalvin Michael Rachel Miller and their son Kameron, of Alexandria, VA and Kathleen "Katie" Miller of Kalamazoo; brother, Carl Barb Miller of Portage; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles Beverly Putman, Ruby Starnes, George Putman, Martha Kenneth Mc Graw, Carolyn Terry Stacy, Kenneth Betty Sue Putman all of South Carolina, and Allie Putman; and many nieces and nephews. Committal services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, 3941 S. Westnedge Ave. with Rev. David Bruininks officiating. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to West Michigan Cancer Center in memory of his late wife, Mary Miller.
