SLOCUM, Mrs. Edna M.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Sunday afternoon November 25, 2012. Edna was born July 27, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan a daughter of Frank and Ellen Drake Frick. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed as a home care patient assistant for many years. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard L. Slocum on December 21, 1980; a brother, John; and 2 sisters, Mary and Margaret. She is survived by 2 daughters, Jeannette Hartmann of Kalamazoo and June Dr. Shawn Gillette of Allegan; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Haithcoat of Lansing, MI; a brother, Jack Feathers of Florida; an aunt; an uncle; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11 o'clock Friday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be held 1 o'clock Friday in Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins, MI.
