Edna I. Franson

Franson, Edna I. Of Kalamazoo Formerly of greater Detroit Ms. Franson, age 96, passed away September 16, 2007 at Tendercare of Portage. She was born January 19, 1911, in Duluth, MN, one of four children to the late Charles and Helga Pedersen Franson. Ms. Franson was employed as a legal secretary for many years. She later worked as an administrative assistant for the Superintendent of the Roseville Public Schools for 10 years until her retirement in the late 1960?s. Edna really cared for people. She had many friends and family who loved her. Surviving are two sisters, Mary Ann Markert of Portage, and Betty Tomion of Port Huron; sister-in-law, Ruth Franson of Livonia; 11 nieces and nephews, Beverly Franson of Houston, TX, Ruth Ann John Zimmer of Northville, Ann James Bell of Lake Orion, Jean Rob Kropf of Portage, Liza Robert Hamel of Grass Lake, Mandy Steve Pitzer of Highland, John Markert Jr. of Eastpointe, Karl Denise Tomion of Port Huron, Walter Val Tomion of Saline, Margaret Tomion of Caro, and Sarah Richard Brockett of Peoria, IL; and many grand nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents; her only brother, Lloyd Franson; and one nephew, Chris Franson. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Fowlerville.
