Parchment, MI Died Thursday morning May 20, 2010. Edith was born June 13, 1913 in Goshen, Indiana a daughter of Mervin and Nina LaBounty Cripe. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the K.V.P. Company and the Kalamazoo Regional Psychiatric Hospital years ago. Edith was also a member of the Parchment United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dayton M. Simmons on January 5, 2007; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters. She is survived by 2 children, Norma Glenn Loughridge Simmons of Parchment and Donald Nancy Simmons of Richland; 4 grandchildren, William Debbie Schmidt, Jeannine Schmidt, Dan Julie Simmons, and Jeff Sherri Simmons; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 10 o'clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 4-7pm Sunday. Interment will be in West Cooper Cemetery.
