FREDERICKS, Edith L.
Kalamazoo Edith died Saturday, November 15, 2008, at her home. She was born October 31, 1914 in Holton, MI, a daughter of George and Alta Phillips Crawford and had lived in this area since 1961. Edith graduated from Bronson School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse for Bronson Hospital and General Signal before retiring. She was a member of Portage First United Methodist Church. On March 30, 1942, Edith was united in marriage with Leroy Fredericks who preceded her in death on June 20, 1993. Edith was also preceded in death by: her parents; a son, John Fredericks; a granddaughter, Jackie Fredericks and a sister, Aletha Utter. Surviving are: two children, Sharon K. Fredericks, Pat Lori Fredericks, all of Kalamazoo; five grandchildren, Patrick Fredericks, Rebecca Jeff Danna, Phillip Amber Fredericks and Lindsey J. Fredericks; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a daughter-in-law, Alvera Fredericks; a sister, Beatrice Bob Stout; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1:00 Wednesday afternoon at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street with Pastor Jim Dyke, officiating. Burial in Fort Custer National Cemetery will follow services. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
