MEARING, Mr. Earl V., Sr.
Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday morning September 3, 2011 at his residence. Earl was born December 23, 1926 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Vern and Lora Healy Mearing. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the James River Corporation for 42 years, retiring in 1989. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda J. Mearing on August 6, 2003; and 2 sisters, Lois Smiley and Rhea Walton. He is survived by 3 children, Earl Deborah Mearing Jr., David Donna Mearing, and Kathy Jo Michael VanSparrentak of all of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Cremation will follow services. Private burial will take place in Alamo Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
