FLOOK, Mr. Earl A.
Galesburg, MI Passed away Thursday morning November 22, 2007. Earl was born May 10, 1923 in Battle Creek, Michigan, a son of Austin and Mable Merrow Flook. During WWII, he served with the 137th Infantry of the U.S. Army as a radio technician/operator. When he returned from overseas he married Marian R. Hecker, they began their married life in Battle Creek, MI. In the late 1950?s he took a new job position that brought he and his family to Galesburg. Earl and Marian?s home was warm, welcoming, and open to family and friends. Earl was an active participant in his community through both the Lions Club and the Masonic Lodge. He was District Governor of the Lions Club in 1968-69 and he received his 50 year membership pin from the Masonic Lodge in 2006. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marian R. Flook; a daughter, Lou Ellen Groh; a brother, Jay Flook. He is survived by his daughter Connie Furrow of Galesburg; 5 grandchildren Michael Groh, Michelle Chris Slaton and Jeffrey, Mark, and Ben Furrow; 4 great grandchildren Alex and Elizabeth Groh and Thomas and Benjamin Earl Jr. Furrow; a brother James Flook of Hastings; a sister-in-law Lorraine Flook of Battle Creek; an aunt Eva Grant of Battle Creek; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held 1 o?clock Thursday, November 29th from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek Street. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials
