HAMLIN, Mr. E. Arnold
Kalamazoo, MI Died Friday afternoon March 18, 2011. Arnold was born October 30, 1914 in Decatur, Michigan the son of Fred E. and Eva Arnold Hamlin. During WWII, he served in the Medical Corps with the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Decatur High School and Parsons Business College in Kalamazoo. Arnold had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1935 and was employed with Miller-Davis Co. and retired from Marvane Oil Company as Vice-President-Treasurer. On October 30, 1953, he was united in marriage to Barbara J. Baker of Chicago, IL. They both later worked at W.M.U.'s Miller Auditorium. After Arnold's retirement they spent 18 winters in Mission, Texas and traveled extensively in Mexico, and spent 25 summers at the lakeshore near South Haven. Arnold is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Gary Barbara Wortinger Hamlin both of Kalamazoo and Paul Courtney Hamlin of Plainwell; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Fuller, and Justin, Kirklin, Caitlin, Brittin and Ashlin Hamlin; 3 great-grandchildren, Deziray, Kaylyn, and Ethon. Services will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday and one hour prior the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
