PETERSON, DWIGHT Dwight Arthur Peterson, age 79, passed away June 26, 2012, in Centreville, Michigan. Dwight was born March 2, 1933 in Princeton, Minnesota, the son of George and Elsa Berglund Peterson. He was a long time Kalamazoo area resident and was employed by the City of Kalamazoo and later as a custodian for the Three Rivers Bible Church. Dwight was a member of the 12th Street Baptist Church in Kalamazoo. On May 15, 1954, he was united in marriage to Laura "Gay" Knapp Peterson, who survives. Also surviving are their children, Dixie George Deemer of Centreville, Sandy Scott McDonald of Hickory Corners, Carol Roland Guidry of Lutcher, LA, Virginia Donald Schwemer of Three Rivers and Ben Tammy Peterson of Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Curt Larsen, Dan Peterson, Melvin Peterson, Paul Peterson, Richard Peterson, and JoAnn Donn Pearson; many nieces and nephews. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, a son Donald Peterson and brothers, George, Allen and David Peterson. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm Sunday, July 1st at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Monday, July 2nd at 12th Street Baptist Church 3911 South 12th Street with Pastor Randy Burnett officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park North. Memorials in Dwight's memory may be directed to the family or Southern Care Hospice.
