Formerly of Kalamazoo Died suddenly on Sunday, May 8, 2011. Duane was born October 10, 1949 in Grand Rapids, MI, a son of Dwight and Phyllis Duce Warner and had lived in Kalamazoo for most of his adult life. He graduated from Michigan Tech with a degree in Civil Engineering and was employed since 1976 as a Construction Traffic Engineer in Southwest Michigan. Duane was very involved in the Masonic Lodge. He was an active member of the Kalamazoo Anchor Lodge #22 F.& A.M, Kalamazoo Chapter #13, Kalamazoo Council #63, Peninsular Commandry #8, Scottish Rite, Michigan York Rite College, Allied Masonic Degrees, Loyalty Chapter #497 O.E.S., and a member of the Advisory Board for Kalamazoo Assembly #27 I.O.R.G. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his father-in-law Harold Lanphear. On July 1, 1995 he was married to Vicki E. Lanphear McCoy, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Rebecca McCoy; sister Sandy Tim Nelson; his mother-in-law Thelma Lanphear of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. with a Masonic Service at 7 pm. Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 247 W. Lovell St. with a Royal Arch Masonic Service included. The family suggests that memorial contributions in Duane's memory be made to the Kalamazoo Masonic Lodge #22 or the American Heart Association.
