DOUGLASS, Duane Arthur
of Hickory Corners, Michigan Passed away January 20, 2013 at the age of 70. He was born October 9, 1942 in Battle Creek to the late Kennard and Marion Brennan Douglass. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Wilkins on December 22, 1962. Duane was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He earned a full scholarship to Michigan Tech, where he started a new fraternity, based on his academic achievements. Duane spent his adult life as an aerospace engineer, where he designed many components in use on military and civilian aircraft, including being listed as the inventor on a U.S. patent. Duane leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Douglass of Hickory Corners; children, Don Douglass of Hickory Corners and Dena Bob Milbeck of Portage; grandchildren, Justin Alyssa Milbeck, Erica Milbeck, Jason Corey Milbeck and Alyssa Milbeck; great grandchildren, Kierstin, D.J., Hadley and Emmaline, all Milbeck's. A memorial service will take place Tuesday, January 29th, from 1-3 pm at Kalamazoo Community Church. Arrangements by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Turner Syndrome Society of the United States turnersyndrome.org.
