Plainwell, MI Died Wednesday morning February 15, 2012. Duane was born June 1, 1932 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Sam and Jacoba Burgler Adams. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Danny Kay Realty for many years before retiring. Duane was also a member of the Twin Lakes Reformed Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jack. On October 10, 1980, he was united in marriage to Betty J. Ault Adams who survives. Also surviving, 4 children, Debbie Steve DeHaan of Schoolcraft, Dawn Dave Llewellyn of Richland, and DeAnn Adams and Daniel Kathleen Santos all of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren; Alan Cherette, Darren Adams, Chad Miller, and Tony Santos; 2 sisters, Judy Glenn Timmerman of Kalamazoo and Sharon Overbeek of Zeeland, MI; 3 sisters-in-law, Darlene Adams of Phoenix, AZ, Mary Carl Garrison of White Pigeon, and Sharon Dennis Ouding of Comstock; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services will be held 1 o'clock Thursday in Fort Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Twin Lakes Reformed Church.
