LYSTER, Dr. Mark A.
Kalamazoo, Michigan Died peacefully Wednesday afternoon 21 October 2009. Mark was born 5 January 1953 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Robert and Beverly Carter Lyster. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with The Upjohn Company for 24 years. Mark was also a member of the First United Methodist Church; and served as a dedicated volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America for 22 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mark is survived by 4 sons, Brian Charles of Kalamazoo, Eric Michael of Los Angeles, CA, and Andrew Allan and Jeffrey Robert both of Kalamazoo; his sons mother, Laura Rothrock Lyster of Kalamazoo; 3 sisters, Karen Lyster, Chris Ryan, and Robyn Dennis Airhart all of Kalamazoo; a brother, Michael Cheri Lyster of Climax Scotts; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and the many members of his Scouting family. Services will be held 11 o'clock Monday at the First United Methodist Church, 212 S. Park St. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Saturday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Private interment will take place at a later date.
