Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Friday morning December 19, 2008. Doyle was born May 14, 1914 in Onekama, Michigan a son of Enos and Helen Short. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Navy. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident for many years and was employed with the Kalamazoo Regional Psychiatric Hospital for 14 years before retiring. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Agnes C. Short on October 21, 2007; a daughter, Emily; 3 brothers; and a sister. He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Rook of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Iris Zantjer of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 1 o'clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
