Kalamazoo, MI Died Tuesday evening November 18, 2008. Doyle was born September 16, 1918 in Payne, Ohio a son of John and Cora Snyder Deerwester. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1951 and was employed with the Consumer Power Company for many years before retiring. He was also a member of the Parchment United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Lloyd and Robert; and a sister, Vivian. On October 25, 1944, he was united in marriage to Helen "Ruth" Grandstaff Deerwester who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Jean David Milham of Panama City Beach, FL, and Linda Tarner and Laura Deerwester all of Kalamazoo; 7 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 1 o'clock Saturday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private burial will take place in Genesee Prairie Cemetery at a later date.
