JOHNSON, Douglas E.
Of Portage Passed away Wednesday morning, December 12, 2007 at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Doug was born August 18, 1931 in Kalamazoo the son of Edward and Anna McDowell Johnson. Prior to his retirement Doug taught French at the University of Illinois, Chicago Campus. He had a love for life and music and was surrounded by many wonderful friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his 3 great-nephews. Doug was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Kenny. Surviving are his mother, Anna Johnson; sister, Janet Eldred; 2 nephews, David Jean Eldred, Dale Glenys Eldred; and 3 great-nephews, Bob, Tom, and Charlie. A memorial service will be held 2:00 Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre. Friends may meet the family prior to the service from 1-2pm. Private interment will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Southwest Michigan. www.langelands.com
