VAN LANDEGENT, Dorothy M.
of Kalamazoo Dorothy was born July 4, 1916, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Harry and Thelma Percival Hindes and went home to be with her Lord on May 6, 2011, in Kalamazoo. She was a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed for over 30 years in the office at Allied Paper Company. Dorothy was a longtime and active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and needlepoint; and especially loved her collection of angels and little shoes. On May 18, 1935, she was united in marriage to Robert H. VanLandegent who preceded her in death on November 3, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by siblings, Beatrice Blease and Jack Hindes and by a grandson, Michael Jepkema in 1983. Surviving are her son and daughter, Thomas N. VanLandegent and Joan L. Fred Jepkema both of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Dan Jepkema, Steve Jepkema, Pam Jepkema. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 to 11 AM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday. A private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family request no flowers and that memorials in Dorothy's memory may be directed to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
