Dortha Jean Curtiss

Age 99, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Dortha was born in Harrison County, West Viriginia on August 8, 1925, the daughter of the late Patsy S. and Mary Ethel (Heldreth) Venetti. On December 20, 1947, she was united in marriage to Jerald L. Curtiss, who preceded her death on July 25, 1972. Dortha was also preceded in death by her son, Jerald “Jerry” D. Curtiss and grandson, Nathanial Curtiss. She is survived by her son, James A. Curtiss and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dortha was very close and shared a special bond with her grandson, Jimmy Curtiss and former daughter in-law, Sally Curtiss. A committal service will take place in the chapel at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park – South on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
