Dorothy Ann Watson

Dorothy Ann Watson, of Kalamazoo, died Sunday, January 21, 2024. Dorothy was born Dorothy Ann Smith, on June 28, 1953, in Allegan County, Michigan, a daughter of Robert Matthew and Julia Ann Smith. 

Dorothy was a resident of Kalamazoo for over 60 years. She married the love of her life, Robert James Watson, on September 17, 1980, and he survives her. Dorothy was a beloved daughter, sister, and wife to her family. She had an enormous and generous heart for helping anyone who needed assistance. Dorothy was a light to everyone she met with her sweet smile and graciousness to all. She also had a compassionate heart for animal welfare, having rescued many neglected animals and donating to animal rescues. She will be so greatly missed. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents. She has a surviving sister, Carol (George) Watral of Deltona, FL.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, where the family will greet friends from 10:30 AM-11:30 AM, prior to service. Interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, North. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to an Animal Rescue Program of your choice. 

The family would like to thank Jennine Barnes and her family for their many years of loving friendship and care. Also, to thank the Hospice home care workers for the caring and loving treatment Dorothy received from them.
