Of Kalamazoo, MI Passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the age of 90. She was born in Kalamazoo on November 19, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Margaret Mastenbrook Morren. She worked in food services for Kalamazoo Public Schools, retiring after 15 years of service. She was a member of North Park Reformed Church and was active in its Ladies Guild, Choir and Ladies Trio. She also belonged to the Willing Workers at North Christian School and enjoyed baking, cooking and traveling. She was married to Dirk "Dick" Stapert on June 20, 1941; he preceded her in death on February 28, 2009. Surviving are four sons, Bruce Freda Stapert of Gobles, Douglas Sheryl Stapert of Mattawan, Bryan Lauretta Stapert of Kalamazoo and Bradley Bonny Stapert of Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Eugene Evelyn Callighan and Mrs. Peter Frances Weyenberg. The family would like to make a special remembrance of the Mastenbrook family, who took Dorothy in and cared for her at a very early age. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at North Park Reformed Church, 1316 Barney Rd. Rev. Paul D. Fazio and Rev. Dave Smit will officiate. Private interment will take place later in Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. Memorials may be made to North Park Reformed Church, Kalamazoo Christian School Association or Park Village Pines.
