Dorothy L. (Henry) Ragan

Dorothy L. Ragan, age 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. She was born in Kalamazoo to the late Glen and Catherine (Gray) Henry on July 22, 1925. Dorothy married Orville R. Ragan on November 22, 1948, in Parchment and enjoyed 45 years of marriage before his passing in 1993. Dorothy worked as a bank teller for American National Bank for 15 years before becoming a full-time mother. She was a longtime member of Parchment United Methodist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Gary (Sandra) Ragan; two grandchildren, Katherine (Jordan) Holzgen and Erik (Nicole) Ragan; two great-grandchildren, Wulfgang Holzgen and Henry Ragan; nephews, Richard Blue and Ronald Blue; great-nephew, Ryan (Kylee) Blue; and great-great-nephew, Oliver Blue. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; sister, Betty Blue; and brother, Lester Henry.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at Langeland Family Funeral Home 622 S Burdick St. Kalamazoo, MI 49007. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:30 am to 11:30 am prior to the service. Interment will take place at Mount Ever Rest Memorial Park South. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Parchment United Methodist Church or the Charity of your choice, in memory of Dorothy.
