Portage, MI Dorothy was born April 20, 1927 in Holland, Michigan and passed away on Oct. 17, 2010. She resided in the Kalamazoo area for almost 60 years and was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Dorothy was a great cook, liked to play the piano and the clarinet in the Holland High School Marching Band. She had a great sense of humor and was passionate about helping others. Touring with their antique cars, she enjoyed the many new friends they met along the way. An outstanding wife and mother, words cannot express enough how much she was loved. Dorothy is survived by her son, Michael Pamela Nash of Vicksburg; her daughter, Diane Steven Candy of Gilbert, Arizona along with granddaughters Allison and Stephanie; several nieces and nephews; and her exceptional extended family at Amber Way, Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by sisters, Velma Nies, Elinor Van Liere and Frances Boersma, and her brother, Calvin Moomey; her parents, Arthur Glen and Edith Moomey; and her beloved husband, Willis. Services will be held 1 o'clock Saturday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Friday and one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice. www.langelands.com . 343-1508.
