KOETJE, Dorothy M.
Of Portage, Michigan Passed away Sunday morning, August 8, 2010. Dorothy was born May 2, 1929 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Frederick and Anna Brunsting Penny. On October 8, 1948 she was united in marriage to Fabrian Koetje who preceded her in death on January 10, 2005. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Anna Barker, Cora Bonselaar; and 2 brothers, Frederick and Cornelius Penny. Dorothy was a member of the West Mendon United Methodist Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Dorothy is survived by 4 children, Penny Tim Joy, Kenneth Kristi Koetje, Fabrian Jr. Rebecca Koetje, Jon Jennifer Koetje; 10 grandchildren, Eric Meggan Joy, Carol Bryan Pajak, Kevin Evelyn Joy, Audrey Koetje, Bethany Koetje, Hayley Koetje, Calvin Koetje, Karlee Koetje, Kyle Koetje, and Janae Koetje; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 o'clock Thursday at the West Mendon United Methodist Church, 22994 Portage Lake Rd, with Pastor Ward Pierce officiating. Friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
