Passed away peacefully Saturday, September 18, 2021, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born November 25, 1928, in Kalamazoo, MI a daughter of Peter J. and Marian (Culverhouse) Boers and had been a lifelong area resident. Dorothy was a member of First Congregational Church, P.E.O. Chapter DI, Mary Kate Guild, and a volunteer with Loaves and Fishes. She worked for Langeland Family Funeral Homes for over 27 years before retiring. In retirement she volunteered in the office of First Congregational Church. On May 20, 1950, Dorothy married Richard "Dick" Klepper, who preceded her in death on July 26, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law, Barbara Klepper. Dorothy is survived by her children, Gary Klepper of Port Sanilac, Mark (Betse) Klepper of Kalamazoo, and Gay (Wayne) Deering of Paw Paw; eight grandchildren, Heather (Geoff) Rodocker, Ben (Stefnee McMullin) Klepper, Jordan (Laura Grey) Klepper, Caycee (Joshua) Sledge, Max Klepper, Amber (Jake) Deering-Hitson, Emily (Matt) Deering-Caruso, and Annie Deering; seven great-grandchildren, Lydia, Myrrhin, Mia, Lincoln, Quincy, Whit, and Jackie Bea; brother, Richard Boers; and many special nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 11am to 12 noon Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at First Congregational Church, 345 W. Michigan Avenue, masks are required for entry. Services will begin at 12 noon with Rev. Dr. Nancy Kahaian officiating. A light reception will follow the service. Private graveside services will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo. In lieu of flowers please consider a gift to Huntington's Disease Society of America - Michigan Chapter, the American Diabetes Association or First Congregational Church - Youth Group.
