Of Kalamazoo Dorothy passed away Saturday morning, June 11, 2011 at Kairos Dwelling for the Terminally Ill in Kalamazoo. She was born December 6, 1923 in Grand Haven, MI, the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth Meeusen Holman. Dorothy loved Jesus and was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo for many years. She was very loving and had a caring heart. Dorothy loved animals, enjoyed seeing large bodies of water, listening to Johann Sebastian Bach and playing Scrabble. She had a quick wit and enjoyed watching Steve Martin films. Dorothy also enjoyed her Michigan summers, traveling to Florida, and beautiful flowers. Surviving are her brother, Paul Holman of Grand Haven; 4 nieces, Ann, Dawn Taylor, Beverly Ann Latham, and Vinca Renner; 1 nephew, Mark Wills and several grand nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Margaret Wills. Funeral services for Dorothy will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 504 S. Westnedge Avenue, with Pastor Ken Johnson officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10-11 AM on Wednesday morning at the church. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM on Wednesday at Lake Forest Cemetery, 1304 Lake Avenue, Grand Haven. Memorial contributions may be directed to Kalamazoo Humane Society or Trinity Lutheran Church.
