Dorothy M. Heistand

HEISTAND, Dorothy M. Kalamazoo Passed away Monday morning, April 2, 2007, at Lakeview Community Hospital in Paw Paw. Dorothy was born August 11, 1926, in Jones, MI, a daughter of William and Eva Jane Patterson Jaseph. She worked for National Foods as a checker for 20 years. Dorothy also enjoyed gardening and playing bingo. On July 5, 1948, Dorothy was united in marriage with Arland C. Heistand, who preceded her in death on March 11, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Surviving are: 2 children and their spouses, Bonnie & Keith Abbott of Gobles and Arland & Gayla Heistand of Union; 3 grandchildren, John Tucker, Jessica Heistand and Beth Heistand; 3 step-grandchildren, Don Abbott, Dan Abbott and Bethany Campbell; 1 great-granddaughter, Maile Tucker; 6 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family will gather for visitation on Thursday from 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where services will be held 11:00 Friday morning, with Pastor Jim Dyke, officiating. Interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery will follow services.
