HARNESS, DOROTHY J.
Dorothy June Harness, age 87, passed away September 4, 2015 in Kalamazoo. Dorothy was born June 10, 1928 in Mystic, Iowa the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth (Robinson) Rotisky. She was a longtime Portage area resident who was employed for many years as a receptionist with Powell Studios and for 21 years prior to her retirement as a receptionist at Langeland Portage Chapel. On September 21, 1962 she was united in marriage to Gerald B. Harness, who preceded her in death on January 30, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her son Brian Worrall and her grandson Adam Worrall. Surviving are her daughter and son, Betty (Alan) Brodie and Gerald T. Harness (Tami Elzinga); four grandchildren, Todd (Lisa) Brodie, Julie Brodie (Devee Dawes), Jason (Amanda) Worrall and Angela Harness; seven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Nolan, Will, Maya, Flynn, Emily and Caroline. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Wednesday, September 9th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, where a service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday. A private interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Memorials in Dorothy's memory may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
