FLYNN, Dorothy Sue
Of Alpena, MI; formerly of Kalamazoo Went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday evening, July 15, 2008 in Alpena. Dorothy was born October 23, 1912, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jesse and Mary Kelly Rodenboh. On May 4, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was united in marriage to Rev. David Boyle Flynn. Dorothy and David were both graduates of Central Bible Institute and ministered together for over 50 years in various Assembly of God Churches. They raised their family in Schoolcraft, moved to Bad Axe, and they later returned in retirement to the Schoolcraft area. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, David on April 12, 1993. Dorothy was also preceded in death by siblings, Phillip, Wayne, Evelyn and Florence. Surviving are her son, David Marjorie Flynn of Portage; her daughter, Darlene Keith Sharboneau of Alpena; 4 grandchildren, Jeff Karen Flynn, Doug Kristin Flynn, Becky Todd Hart and Tony Steph Hitchcock; 9 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Colleen, Brady, Carson, Mariah, Nick, Kurt, Aaron and Lindsey; 3 step-grandchildren, Linda Jason Livingston, Sheri Mike Sanford and Bonnie Sharboneau; 2 step great-grandchildren, Billy and Taylor; siblings, Jesse Doris Rodenboh and Ruth Boyd; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. where Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Saturday with Rev. Fred Betcher officiating. Interment will follow in Schoolcraft Cemetery.
