Dorothy Shirlene Drobny

DROBNY, Dorothy Shirlene Galesburg Mrs. Drobny passed away Monday, January 8, 2007 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born September 25, 1925 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Allie and Cecil Ogden Watkins. Shirlene enjoyed farming and cooking. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. On October 23, 1943, she was united in marriage to Frank Drobny, who survives. Also surviving are five children, Frank Jr. Nancy Drobny of South Bend, IN, Dorothy Wood of Augusta, Marlene Drobny of Kalamazoo, Fred Kathy Drobny of Galesburg, and Louis Drobny of Galesburg; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Allie Watkins of Gun Lake. Funeral services for Mrs. Drobny will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek Street, with Pastor Don Ibbotson of Augusta Bible Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Galesburg. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center.
