CONRAD, Mrs. Dorothy L. Cummings-Van Donselaar
Spring Arbor, MI Formerly of Kalamazoo Died Sunday morning October 7, 2012 in Jackson, Michigan. Dorothy was born May 12, 1911 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Noble and Ora Ethel Perry Cummings. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life before moving to Spring Arbor years ago. Dorothy was employed with Galesburg-Augusta Schools for 25 years, retiring in 1976. She was also a member of the Kalamazoo Free Methodist Church years ago. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Conrad in 1964; a son, Larry Conrad; a son-in-law, Steve Courtney; and 2 great-granddaughters, Emma Gioffridi and Violet Rhodes. She is survived by 5 children, Hazel Robert A. Kirkendall of Portage, Charles Joyce Conrad of Spring Arbor, MI, Mary Allen Gearig of Allegan, MI, Jean Stan Whipple of Lakeland, FL, and Norma Courtney of Cheyenne, WY; a daughter-in-law, Darlene McKay of Gobles; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 10 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday at the chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church World Mission.
